Malaysia's Maxis Names New Chairman
Malaysian mobile network operator, Maxis has announced the appointment of Raja Tan Sri Dato' Seri Arshad Bin Raja Tun Uda as its Chairman.
Raja Tan Sri Dato' Seri Arshad, 62, is currently also the Chairman of Ekuiti Nasional Berhad and is a Director of Sime Darby Berhad and Khazanah Nasional Berhad. He previously chaired Danamodal Nasional Berhad and had also served as a member of the telecoms regulator, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission.
"I am honoured and privileged to serve Maxis as its Chairman," said Raja Tan Sri Dato' Seri Arshad. "I thank the Board for their confidence in me and I look forward to providing the leadership to ensure the growth and success of the company."
Raja Tan Sri Dato' Seri Arshad was previously the Executive Chairman and Senior Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Malaysia and a member of the PwC Global Leadership Team. He also chaired the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board and was a member of the Standards Advisory Council of the International Accounting Standards Board.
