Federal Court Rejects Amended Class Action Complaint Against Qualcomm
Qualcomm has announced that the United States District Court for the Southern District of California again granted Qualcomm's motion to dismiss a consumer class action lawsuit alleging antitrust violations and unfair competition by Qualcomm.
U.S. District Court Judge William Q. Hayes rejected arguments raised by plaintiff Christopher Lorenzo in his amended complaint and affirmed his prior ruling that Lorenzo lacked standing to bring antitrust claims. As to the plaintiff's other claims, the court affirmed that the allegations in the complaint did not give him any right to compensation from Qualcomm under California's unfair competition law.
The case, filed in 2008, is Lorenzo v. Qualcomm, Case No. 08cv2124 WQH.
