Openwave Sues 724 Solutions Over Patent Infringements
Openwave Systems has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against 724 Solutions in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California to protect its IP rights. In its complaint, Openwave alleges that 724 Solutions has infringed several of Openwave's networking and communications patents.
"Since its inception in 1994, Openwave and its predecessor companies have invested in and protected its innovative technology that is today enabling the exciting evolution of the always on wireless internet. Going forward, we will continue to invest in developing our industry leading technology, we will look to partner/collaborate with others to bring our innovations to market, and we will continue to protect our intellectual property," said Ken Denman, President and CEO.
Openwave is seeking an unspecified amount of damages as well as injunctive relief against 724 Solutions to prevent the further sale of infringing products in the United States.
