Globul Doubles Mobile Date Download Speed

Bulgarian mobile operator, Globul is to be the first operator in the country to offer mobile download speeds of 14.4 mbps in its 3G network via a HSPA upgrade. The new data transfer speed will be gradually introduced firstly in areas with high data services usage including commercial and industrial parks, university centers, seaside and mountain resorts.

Since 2006, Globul had invested more than BGN 70 million in the development of its UMTS network and 3G-based services. Presently, Globul 3G network covers 78% of the country's population.

"The launch of data transfer speed of up to 14.4 mbps in Globul 3G network is just another step in our investment and development program. It will assists us meet the growing demand for the company's data services and will allow us to offer our clients new opportunities and even higher quality." - commented Globul Chief Technical Officer Mr. Apostolos Pagkoutsos.
