Telecom New Zealand Launches Mobile Music Store
Telecom New Zealand has launches what it says is the country's largest mobile music store, offering over 3.2 million music tracks. The Telecom Music Store includes a 'What's Fresh' zone, the record labels' top picks of the latest tracks to hit the scene, a 'What's Hot' zone, a top 20 list of Telecom's best selling songs, as well as high-spec graphics, bios and photos of key artists and albums.
Telecom Director of Mobile, Paul Hamburger says the Telecom Music Store makes music on your mobile phone more accessible than ever. "It is faster to download direct to your mobile phone and because there are no data charges, more affordable to use than any other mobile music service offered currently in New Zealand," he says.
He added that unlike Vodafone's mobile music store where customers are charged data usage to surf its mobile music catalogue from their mobile phone, the Telecom Music Store is free to browse. The cost to download music onto a 3G phone is currently NZ $1.99 per track and customers can preview a song for up to 30 seconds for free before they choose to purchase it.
As well as offering choice and affordability, the Telecom Music Store has a local flavour with Kiwi artists featuring on the home page.
"This is a terrific way to gain exposure for local talent," says Mr Hamburger.
The Telecom Music Store acts as a central point for accessing other mobile music services available on XT, with links to music-related features in TWorld such as downloadable Tru-Tones, TXT Tones and Telecom exclusive Caller Tunes.
