T-Mobile Macedonia Signs HSPA Upgrade Contract

Ericsson has signed an exclusive 4-year upgrade contract with T-Mobile Macedonia for a nationwide HSPA-enabled network and modernization of the packet-core network. Ericsson will plan, design and deploy the radio access network, and design, adapt and integrate the packet-core network.

The contract also covers support and competence development services. Delivery has already started. No financial details were offered.

Based on figures from the Mobile World analysts, T-Mobile Macedonia (formerly Mobimak Makedonija) ended Q1 '09 with 1.35 million customers, which represents a market share of around 58%.
