Telefonica Expands Mobile Email Service to Consumer Market

Mobile email vendor, Seven has announced that Telefonica's existing business email service, Mail Movistar has now been expanded to include the consumer segment. Seven says that having one email solution across Telefonica’s entire base generates new revenue as customers use the service for one purpose and migrate to using email for another.

Telefonica and Seven launched the enterprise e-mail solution in May 2005, followed by an SME solution in February 2006. The consumer email solution supports most commonly used email services such as Microsoft Live Hotmail, Gmail, Terra and Telefonica’s own email account.

“With Seven’s award-winning mobile email solution extended across its entire customer base, Telefonica can focus its marketing efforts on promoting Mail Movistar to anyone in Spain ready to benefit from mobile email,” said Ross Bott, CEO and President of Seven.
